seminar entitled “Intoxicant free Society, a Healthy Society: Role of Youth”
was organized by the Department of History, Tulasi Womens College in
collaboration with Vivekananda Yuva Sansad, Odisha in the college premises on
22nd October 2019 under the chairmanship of Dr. Smruti Ranjan
Behera, Principal of the college. Sj. Satyabrata Prusty, M. Tech, IIT Delhi, a
social activist and founder of “Sambhaba Odisha”, graced the occasion as
resource person and Chief Speaker and Sj. Binayak Ghose, Lect. in History, Naami
College, Bhadrak, as the Co-resource person.
Sj. Prusty vividly analysed the social
hazards caused by intoxication, like road accidents, attack on womenfolk and
other inhuman activities and also threw light on various remedial methods for
young mass of the society. Sj. Ghose gave emphasis on swadesi concept to enrich
our national culture.
